Leaders often recognize that their organizations must change, but few have substantial data beyond their own perceptions about what needs changing. Most leaders have little time to design change, or knowledge about how to plan for and implement it. Leaders’ efforts to force change without supporting information, planning and engagement often end with employees feeling disillusioned and wondering, “Who’s steering the ship?” or “Why are we going that way?”
EMI Organization Development (OD) Consultants start with end goals in mind, and design processes that help organizations and leaders solve problems, develop efficiencies, improve financial performance, and discover new opportunities. Our initiatives give leaders data about the root causes of key problems, significant opportunities, pathways to achieve success, and highly experienced, unbiased guidance for planning and implementation.
What is Organization Development?
In 1969, Richard Beckhard penned the following tried-and-true definition of OD: “Organization Development is an effort, planned, organization-wide, and managed from the top, to increase organization effectiveness and health through planned interventions in the organization’s “processes,” using behavioral-science knowledge.”
